Out of District and Open Enrollment

Children who live outside the city of Milwaukee can attend an MPS school if seats are available.

Public School Open Enrollment is a statewide period when students can apply to schools outside their home district for the upcoming fall semester.

• Children in 4K through grade 12 can apply.
• Acceptance depends upon available seats.
• Bus transportation is not provided to out-of-district students except for children who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) that specifies that transportation must be provided.
