How to Apply for High School Enrollment

The high school application window is open from September 28, 2024 through November 4, 2024.

Students Currently Enrolled in Milwaukee Public Schools:

Steps to apply to a MPS high school

  1. Complete the high school admission application: Click here to Enroll Now!
The high school admissions window will open on September 28, 2024, at 7:00 a.m.

  2. Complete the on-demand writing activity. Grade 8 students currently enrolled in an MPS school will complete the on-demand writing activity at their school
  3. For students who attended 7th grade in MPS: Documents needed for the application (attendance, report card, standardized test scores) will be pulled by district staff. Families do not need to upload. This includes students at MPS contracted schools (e.g., Carmen, Highland, Hmong American Peace Academy, La Causa, Milwaukee College Prep. Milwaukee Environmental Sciences Academy)
  4. For students who did NOT attend 7th grade in MPS: Families will need to submit attendance, report card, and standardized test scores when filling out the admission application.

** Grade 8 students currently enrolled at a school that serves students in grades 9-12 (e.g., Golda Meir, Green Tree Preparatory, MacDowell Montessori, Milwaukee School of Languages, Obama SCTE, Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning) must complete an application and put their current school as their first choice if they want to continue at the school going into grade 9. Applicants already enrolled at these schools for grade 8 do not compete with other applicants for a spot in grade 9.

*** The high school enrollment window will close on November 4, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
