Due to the ongoing pandemic, we will not be able to hold the Montessori Summit this year.
However, we warmly invite new incoming parents to visit us virtually at the upcoming Kindergarten Enrollment Fair on February 6 and 20 to learn about the Montessori program.
A link to the virtual fair will be available soon at mpsmke.com/enroll.
If you'd like to learn more, the information below reflects the Montessori Summit event from prior years.
1:00–2:30 p.m. Glass Classroom Observation
Tour glass classrooms staffed by teachers and students from MPS Montessori schools. See what a typical day is like in the Montessori environment at all levels — primary, lower elementary, upper elementary, early adolescence, and high school. Trained MPS Montessori teachers will be on hand in question-and-answer rooms to provide additional information and to answer questions.
2:45–4:00 p.m. Breakout Sessions
Montessori 101 – This session is for new or prospective families and will provide an overview of the primary materials and methodology of the Montessori curriculum.
Montessori 202 – This session is a more in-depth look at Montessori materials and includes hands-on work with Montessori materials.
Montessori Training – Various Montessori training centers, including MPS University, the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee, Alverno College, UW–River Falls, and Seton Montessori Institute, will provide information and training resources.
