MPS seeks educators who share the district’s commitment to excellence in urban education. If you are ready to be an urban educator who prepares students for life-long success, MPS offers rewarding career opportunities, ongoing support of your professional development, and clear career tracks for upward mobility.

“The best part about teaching for MPS is the support amongst colleagues and all the students I get to work with and be around. As a first year teacher, I am proud to be part of MPS and the work we are doing as part of the community.”

First-year teachers receive a well-integrated system of support to ensure their success including:

  • New Educator Institute, an intensive, three-day program, which runs before the beginning of the school year and focuses on common Core Standards, educator effectiveness, curriculum development and cultural awareness
  • Four, two-day institutes held throughout a teacher’s first school year
  • Periodic constructive feedback from an evaluator or colleague

“It’s tough work, but I really love my job.”
