Substitute Teachers

substitute teacher working with studentsSubstitute teachers apply to the position when it is posted and applications are screened by Human Resources, Talent Management.

Requirements to become a substitute include:

  • A resume, letters of recommendation and transcripts showing at least a bachelor’s degree
  • A Substitute teaching license

Applicants with no license must show that they have passed a substitute training course that is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.  (Retired teachers may utilize their teaching license as long as it is active.)

Candidates for the substitute position will be invited to participate in a recorded, on-line interview.

Once hired, the new substitutes will receive access to the Frontline Absence Management System which will allow them to choose their work environment and schedule.
