Paraprofessionals

paraprofessional with students at lincoln avenue schoolParaprofessionals play a vital role at Milwaukee Public Schools to provide academic and behavioral support to students and assist with other important responsibilities. Application materials for paraprofessionals are sent directly to the schools.

Application requirements include a resume and three signed letters of recommendation, plus meet one of the following requirements:

  • At least 48 college credits OR
  • A passing score on a Department of Public Instruction approved assessment

MPS offers the ParaPro Assessment. Interested candidates may apply for the opportunity to take the test by applying on our website to the position titled "Paraprofessional - Tested Candidate Pool".  The ParaPro Assessment costs $55.00.
