This licensure program provides students with the pedagogy they need to successfully teach in an alternative education setting aligned to the WI Educator and WI DPI Alternative Education standards. These programs are offered at a significantly reduced tuition cost when compared with a university-based program, as they are non-credit bearing. Employees enrolled in either of these programs pay tuition costs through payroll deductions. Employees are responsible for 100% of the tuition costs.
Please note: These programs are NOT eligible for tuition reimbursement.
The Alternative Education License (#1952) Program is designed to work with teachers, school districts, and community members to develop programs that help all students become successful, including those who are at-risk, vulnerable, or disengaged.
The program consists of two non-credit courses (12 weeks & 8 weeks) that meet every week during the evening. Upon successful completion of the courses, clinical experiences and content area portfolio submission, candidates will be endorsed by MPSU for the #1952 alternative education license.
Applicants must hold a valid DPI teacher license to be eligible for this program.
