I want to welcome you back for another great school year with Milwaukee Public Schools!

With much enthusiasm, I want to welcome you back for another great school year with Milwaukee Public Schools! Your hard work as teachers, administrators, and school and district staff will be the key ingredient to move the district forward.

The start of the new school year is one of my favorite times of year. It’s a fresh start for our students, families, and staff, and is the perfect time to recommit ourselves to the important work ahead.

Throughout the year, we will all be guided by our Strategic Plan together with Ambitious Instruction: Accelerating Learning. The pathways set by these guiding principles will lead us forward and help us achieve success for all students.

We will continue to put a strong focus on attendance this year to help ensure that every student is in school every day. We have launched a new attendance campaign, Every Day Counts, with the goal of achieving 95 percent attendance or better, assisting all students to succeed and graduate on time. To achieve this goal, we need everyone working together.

Great things are ahead for our students, families, and schools. I look forward to a successful school year.
