Spring break is here. During the week, I hope you will find time to relax, recharge, and renew. Find time to rest and unwind before we head into the exciting final few months of the school year. When school begins again on Monday, April 1, we have some exciting events to look forward to.

  • Mark your calendars for the MPS Biennial Music Festival on May 1 and 2! This event is open to the public and free to attend. Thousands of MPS students will sing and perform at the UWM Panther Arena. More information is being shared in the coming weeks.
  • Registration for Summer Academy is open! Students in grades K–8 can sign up for a five-week program or specialty classes. Older students can earn high school credit to catch up or get ahead. Visit

As a reminder, all schools are closed March 22 to 31. All MPS sites, including Central Services, will be closed on Friday, March 29. All schools on both the early start calendar and the traditional calendar will return to class on Monday, April 1.

I am hopeful that our weather soon will allow you, our students, and their families the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and take part in some fun activities. Please enjoy your week, spend some time with loved ones, and feel refreshed as spring arrives.
