Happy Holidays from Milwaukee Public Schools!

Dear MPS Families,

As our winter break begins, I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to all our MPS families. Our students and district succeed because of eager learners who show up every day and work to do their best, along with dedicated families who get their children to school on time and support students and schools. Together with our committed educators and staff who have every student’s best interests at heart, we have the recipe for success for all children, and I am grateful to one and all.

We have much to celebrate from the past year. It has been a joy seeing students engaged in new academic programs and activities in our schools. Our educators and staff have truly worked to go above and beyond for our students. Please consider thanking your teachers and school staff with a kind word or email.

I’d also like to encourage our families to keep learning over the break. Set aside time for reading each day, visit a museum, practice math skills, or watch something that sparks your child’s educational interest. Students will come back to school refreshed and ready to continue learning. What we learn is ours to keep forever, and time spent learning is never wasted.

I hope you enjoy your winter break and find time to relax with family and friends, take a breather from the holiday bustle, and find joy in those you love.
