Dear Colleagues:
Open Enrollment for health/vision, dental, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA) and the Opt-Out plan is being held October 18 - November 5, 2021 on MPS Employee Self Service with changes effective January 1, 2022!
- The FSA annual election does not automatically rollover from year to year. You must re-enroll via the online enrollment process through Employee Self Service for each new plan year (see instructions below).
- Already enrolled in an MPS HSA? Your annual contribution election does not automatically rollover into the next year. You can submit your change for the following year through Employee Self Service during Open Enrollment.
From 10/18/2021 through 11/5/2021 you can log in to MPS Employee Self Service to make changes to your benefits (health, dental, FSA, HSA and the Opt-Out plan) during Open Enrollment. Instructions can be found with your 2022 Open Enrollment materials mailed to your home or see steps below:

For Dependent changes select: Add/Update Dependent to add a new dependent or update dependent data. Check/Uncheck the box next to the dependent to enroll/cancel coverage.
Final Step – You MUST click Submit Enrollment on the Benefits Enrollment page to submit your benefit elections. Only elections that have been submitted will be processed. You will receive this pop-up:
When you click on the View button, it will take you to the Benefits Statement with a preview of your submitted elections. Click “Expand All” to see your elections. Make sure the statement says “Submitted Enrollment.” If it does not, you will need to click Submit Enrollment in the middle of the Benefits Enrollment page to submit your elections.
Please Note: When enrolling any dependent(s), you must submit verification of dependent eligibility. For example, if you are enrolling a spouse you must submit a marriage certificate or if you are enrolling a dependent child(ren) you must submit a birth certificate(s). Failure to submit acceptable documentation to MPS Department of Benefits, Pension & Compensation may delay or prevent processing of your eligible dependents.
NEW THIS YEAR – Verification Documents for dependent adds, coverage verification for Opt-Out or HSA account authorization forms can be uploaded by navigating to the Document Upload page after you have submitted your elections. Follow the instructions on the Document Upload page to upload documents via Self Service.
