02-26-21 Staff Vaccination Information

All MPS employees including teachers and education support staff are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination. All staff are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.


11-12-20 Staying Healthy Together

To MPS Staff: The district has been diligently strengthening health and safety plans for all staff in school and district buildings. Your safety is our top priority during this public health situation. As positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continue to rise, it is critical that we are all making healthy choices and monitoring symptoms closely to keep our MPS community healthy and safe. Together we can all do our part. 


10-02-20 Roadmap to Readiness Update

To MPS Staff: I want to thank you for your hard work and dedication while preparing for and implementing the first virtual school reopening in the history of the district.


Plan now to attend the MPS Flu Shot Clinic!

To promote the health of all MPS employees and their families, the district will again offer seasonal flu shot clinics in partnership with VaxPro.


06-30-20 School Reopening Survey for Staff

We want to ensure you that MPS remains committed to the health and safety of our students and employees and the consistent delivery of a high-quality educational experience for all students. The input of our staff is essential. Please complete the MPS Reopening Survey by July 8, 2020.


06-22-20 Superintendent Letter to Staff

On June 18, 2020, a draft Remote Work Standard Operating Procedure was discussed with the Milwaukee Board of School Directors at a special board meeting. This procedure will be used moving forward to create the framework for employees to work remotely in extenuating circumstances. The current public health crisis is an evolving situation, therefore the following materials are subject to modifications.


05-26-20 Welcome Back MPS Staff

I’d like to take a moment to welcome most of you back after time away due to the ever-changing pandemic. I hope that you have been able to smoothly settle into your space today. I know we will continue to grow through these changes and come out stronger than before. As we transition into our new normal, please continue to check in on and support one another.


05-22-20 Staff Return to Work

We are confident that we can return to work with new safety measures in place as many other organizations have in recent days. There will be some differences in how we work and interact together but I am confident that we can adapt to this new normal and continue our mission to educate the children in Milwaukee Public Schools.


05-17-20 Superintendent Letter to Staff Regarding Returning to Work

Our administrative team has been working diligently to ensure that we welcome staff back safely to all work locations. All district sites have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected per the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Milwaukee County, and the City of Milwaukee Health Department.


05-08-20 Superintendent Letter to Staff

We remain in constant communication with state and local officials to evaluate health and safety concerns with regards to the gating criteria in Governor Evers’ Badger Bounce Back Emergency plan. After very careful consideration, the following staff will NOT be required to return to work on Monday, May 11 to their normal worksites as previously communicated in the April 24 letter.
