Help Find Our Books!
Milwaukee Public Schools is searching for textbooks and library books that went home in spring but have not been returned. Help us welcome our books back to school! Students and families are asked to search closets, backpacks, shelves, under beds, and anywhere else a book might hide.
Return your textbooks and library books to the school that issued them by September 30, 2020. Important details:
- Books that are returned in good condition by September 30 will NOT be fined.
- Students with missing library books are not allowed to check out more books—return your books to restore library privileges.
- Students who have missing textbooks AFTER September 30 will be billed for the cost of the book.
Contact the school for more information about drop-off.

Meal Distribution for Milwaukee Children
MPS continues distribution of weekday breakfasts and lunches. Federal guidelines for school breakfast and lunch programs allow MPS to offer meals to all school-age children in Milwaukee. To pick up a meal from a Stop, Grab, & Go location, MPS students and families will need to provide the following information:
- Student’s first and last name or student ID number
- Student’s school name
- Student’s grade level
Children enrolled outside of MPS can receive meals by indicating that they are under age 18 and providing the name of the school where they are enrolled.
Locations and hours have been expanded for the new school year.
