Extension

The Extension Fund is specific to all Recreation Department activities. The Recreation Department provides activities that will enhance the health, well-being and leisure time pursuits of all Milwaukee residents’ whether they are a youth, teen, adult or senior.

The graph below shows the specific programs that these expenses were allocated to during the course of FY16. The majority of revenue associated with these expenses comes from their allocation of the City’s Property Tax Levy as well as local revenues (individual program fees).

This program is designed to support community programs and services outside of the regular curricular and extracurricular programs, therefore cost should be considered separately when calculating costs to educate an MPS student.
