Student Engagement

Student engagement mock interview

Student Engagement is a means of further educating MPS students through work activities, professional experiences, and job opportunities. The two-pronged contract assignment requires that MPS contractors and vendors engage in activities that enhance the education of our youth. Activities may range from adopting a school and on-site visit to the jobsite, to hiring working-age students as interns.

Student employment requirements involve MPS students in career exploration through paid employment opportunities linking students to real-world work experiences alongside MPS contractors, vendors, community-based organizations, or MPS departments affording students meaningful employment experiences.

Career education hour requirements involve MPS contractors and or vendors engaging students in activities including but not limited to classroom presentations, job-shadowing, career coaching and or mentorship, and job-readiness training support.

More information about Student Engagement can be found in Administrative Policy 3.10, Historically Underutilized Business Program.
