TThe Long-Range Facilities Master Plan Presentation is not a final action plan but will be a recommendation of ideas and concepts for the school district and Milwaukee community.

Building a Brighter Future

The district is refocusing its facilities and planning to better suit MPS programs and build a brighter future for our students.

The goal of the Long-Range Facilities Master Plan (LRFMP) is to develop an in-depth review of how MPS buildings support the learning environment and identify opportunities to advance the district’s goals of academic achievement; student, family, and community engagement; and effective and efficient operations.

Educational programs should drive facility decisions and long-range plans, not vice versa. Facility master planning must be transparent and inclusive, involve the stakeholders throughout the process, and represent the community's priorities and best practices for a 21st-century school district.

For this process to be successful, all stakeholders will need to weigh the data released carefully to consider the next steps toward investing in our students’ futures. Community feedback is being gathered as part of the district’s 2023-28 Strategic Plan. More information is available here.
