The Office of Communications and School Performance collaborates closely with schools, families, district offices and departments, partners and community stakeholders to provide support and access to resources and accurate information in a professional manner. The office supports the district’s goals and aligns its work to reflect the Five Priorities for Success:
• Increase Academic Achievement and Accountability • Improve District and School Culture • Develop our Staff • Ensure Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency • Strengthen Communication and Collaboration
The Office of Communications and School Performance supports the Department of Communications & Marketing, Contracted School Services, Research, Assessment & Data, Strategic Partnerships & Customer Service, Strategy & Enterprise Initiatives and Equity, Access & Inclusion. The office develops ongoing communication and marketing plans, supports the development of publications and manages translations and interpreter services. The office promotes innovative education opportunities for students by supporting, monitoring and retaining charter and partnership schools/programs. The office provides data support and analysis to the district and school teams, monitors data quality, implements continuous improvement processes and monitors and supports fidelity of RtI/PBIS implementation and intervention utilization. Partnerships & Customer Service develop partnerships and support student and family engagement. The planning an implementations of major district strategic plans/initiatives are supported while reinforcing culturally responsive practices as well as equity, access and inclusion.
The Department of Communications & Marketing works to aggressively promote Milwaukee Public Schools, provide the community with important information about MPS, and assist in efforts to recruit and retain students and staff. The department works through a wide variety of media and print platforms with a focus on creating and reinforcing a positive image of MPS that reflects our achievements and our opportunities for growth. All district translations are also coordinated through the department.

The Department of Contracted School Services promotes innovative educational opportunities by recruiting and retaining high quality charter and partnership schools, while providing assistance and accountability which supports schools' ability to effectively meet students' needs.
The Department of Research, Assessment and Data team provides schools with unparalleled levels of service to ensure that the district effectively and efficiently implements continuous improvement systems that support, measure, and inform the district's work in the areas of teaching and learning, professional development, and educator effectiveness. This includes managing the district's student data systems, including the Data Warehouse, and working closely with school‐level personnel to provide real‐time information and data.
The Department of Strategic Partnerships and Customer Service mobilizes resources for schools and the district by establishing and maintaining meaningful partnerships with families, alumni, volunteers, businesses and the community as a whole.

The Department of Technology supports the district by providing technology that advances educational outcomes in classrooms and improves the operational efficiency of departments.
