MPS Volunteer Application Process

Candidates looking to volunteer at MPS should complete the following steps:

Step 1 : Complete an online volunteer application. 

Step 2: Await email notification for approval.

Step 3: Contact the volunteer point person at the school where you would like to volunteer at to recieve an assignment and a start date.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE AN ASSIGNMENT THAT IS APPROVED BY THE SCHOOL BEFORE THEY CAN GET STARTED. 

Step 4: Create an online account on VicNet to track your volunteer hours, and to recieve volunteer updates as needed.

Opportunities Offered at MPS

The opportunities listed below are common volunteer assignments offered at various schools across the district. Assignments are offered only to approved volunteers based on the school's need. Volunteers who are interested in special assignments must discuss that request with a parent coordinator or principal at the school they are interested in serving at.

  • Classroom Assistant
  • Math Tutor
  • Literacy Tutor
  • Playground Monitor
  • Lunchroom Assistant
  • Library Assistant
  • Field Trip Chaperone
  • Clerical/Office Support
  • College Access Center Helper (High School Only)
  • Sports Coach
  • Special Events Assistant
