MPS Most Valuable Volunteers

Milwaukee Public Schools volunteers are a great role models that contribute to better school attendance, improved grades and test scores, better social skills and much more. The Department of Strategic Partnerships & Customer Service is proud to celebrate volunteers  across the district through the annual MPS Most Valuable Volunteer Awards (MVV Awards). The MVV Awards allows MPS staff to identify volunteers serving in their perspective areas who have made an impact during the academic school year by their service to students. The nomination cycle for this award begins in mid-March and ends in April.

Who Is Eligible for an Award?

  • Volunteers who have an approved online application on file with the Department of Strategic Partnerships & Customer Service.
  •  Volunteers whose service occurred in the 2023–24 school year.
  •  Volunteers who have served a minimum of 50 service hours that can be verified in VicNet or on a paper timesheet that lists only that volunteer’s hours.
  • Volunteers who have not won the MVV Award in previous school years.
  • Volunteers nominated by a parent coordinator, teacher, or others with direct knowledge of the volunteer’s contribution to an MPS school or the district.

MVV Award Winners receive:

  • An MVV recognition certificate.
  • Gift bag filled with treats and trinkets from our MVV sponsors.
  • Recognition on our district volunteer page during National Volunteer Week in April.
