More than 700 Chromebooks were delivered to four MPS schools in September, 2022, so students and teachers can benefit from new devices, internet access, and innovative learning programs. The Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS) program added the selected MPS schools to the nine MPS schools already active in the initiative. VILS provides free technology devices, internet access, and innovative STEM learning programs to help give students the technology, education, and opportunity they deserve.
Schools receiving Chromebooks and supports this round:
· Academia de Lenguaje y Bellas Artes (ALBA)
· Hamlin Garland School
· Lancaster School
· Ralph H. Metcalfe School
Powered by a technology-infused education model, the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program also equips each school with a technology coach and provides professional development for teachers to effectively integrate technology into the classroom. Teachers in the program have reported that the initiative allows for more individualized instruction, helps them explore new ways of teaching, and elevates student engagement.
Thank you, Verizon, for supporting our students and teachers!
