Special Education Family Forum will offer information and workshops for families

Special education will be the focus of the annual MPS Celebrating Abilities event. Community agencies will be on hand to provide information and workshops. This free resource fair is designed for families to learn more about special education services, programs, and opportunities, including making plans for after high school.

Celebrating AbilitiesCelebrating Abilities is set for Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Milwaukee Marshall High School, 4141 N. 64th St., Milwaukee, 53216.

Attendees will have access to a wide range of community resources, including medical agencies, and will have opportunities to network with other families who have children requiring special education programs.

Breakfast, lunch, and child care will be provided.

The event is a collaboration uniting MPS, Alianza Latino Aplicando Soluciones, Disability Rights Wisconsin, Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, WI Facets, Wisconsin Statewide Parent Educator Initiative, and the U.S. Department of Education.
