School kicks off on August 12 and September 3

Teachers and principals are ready to welcome every student back to class! Schools on the early start calendar, including all high schools, stand-alone middle schools, and some elementary schools, will open Monday, August 12. Schools on the traditional calendar, including most elementary schools, will be back in class on Tuesday, September 3.


All students should get ready for an exciting year of learning! MPS offers programs for art, music, college and career readiness, special education, bilingual and English as a second language, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), plus many more options.


Check with your school so you know your student’s start time and your child can be on time every day. View school calendars on the MPS Calendar page.


Families who have not yet registered their children still have time to sign up. Students can be enrolled at any MPS school, online, or at MPS Central Services Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.
