Prepare for the start of the 2024-25 high school sports season

 

Marshall & Rufus King on the line of scrimmage in 2023The community is gearing up for the 2024-25 Milwaukee City Conference high school athletics season! The first day of practice is right around the corner, with game action not far behind. Student-athletes, MCC families, staff, and community members can find more information below.

Fall Sports Registration

Registration is currently open for the fall high school athletics season! Fall sports include:

  • Boys & Girls Cross Country
  • Girls Golf
  • Girls Tennis
  • Girls Swim
  • Boys Soccer
  • Football
  • Girls Volleyball
  • Cheer

High school athletics not only provide opportunities for high-level competition with peers throughout the city, but they also allow all students to build friendships, develop new skills, and bolster resumes.

Registration for winter sports (wrestling, boys swim, boys basketball, and girls basketball) and spring sports (girls soccer, boys golf, boys tennis, boys soccer, softball, baseball, and boys & girls track & field) will open later in the school year, closer to the start of those seasons.

Free Sports Physicals

Milwaukee Public Schools has partnered with Concentra to offer free sports physicals for MPS high school student-athletes. Review this document for all information regarding free physicals.

The following are a few of the Concentra Clinics that will provide free sports physicals for student-athletes:

  • Downtown Milwaukee: 215 N. 35th Street, 414-931-7600
  • Layton Square: 875 W. Layton Avenue, 414-489-3800
  • Airport Milwaukee: 5007 S. Howell Avenue, 414-483-7777
  • Park Place: 11414 W. Park Place, 414-359-0800

Officials Clinics

This summer, Milwaukee Recreation is hosting multiple officials clinics. Any individuals interested in becoming an official or learning from qualified leaders in the field are encouraged to attend.

Volleyball Officials Clinic

  • When: Saturday, July 27, 11 a.m.  - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Beulah Brinton Community Center (2555 S. Bay St.)
  • Cost: Free
  • Register Here (registration deadline: July 24)

Football Officials Clinic

  • When: Saturday, Aug. 17, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Jimmy Banks Memorial Stadium (4300 W. Fairmount Ave.)
  • Cost: Free
  • Register Here (registration deadline: Aug. 14)
