Make wishes come true for teachers and students on #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday BannerOn the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the subsequent Tuesday has gained popularity as Giving Tuesday. The day is a benchmark time to donate to favorite charities before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

The MPS Foundation accepts gifts for many individual MPS schools and programs, and its current flagship effort, called #ConnectMilwaukee, supports technology for students. Laptops, Chromebooks, and hotspots are no longer a luxury for students, but are essential tools for virtual learning. Log in to the MPS Foundation to make a gift directly to MPS students!

Giving Tuesday is your chance to double your impact on MPS classrooms! On December 1, 2020, the website Donors Choose will match all donations at 100 percent! Donors Choose hosts classroom requests from teachers so interested donors can browse projects, select a favorite, and easily contribute to classroom supplies, equipment, books, teaching aids, and technology.

Milwaukee Public Schools currently has more than 400 projects posted on Donors Choose. Easily browse MPS requests by visiting the MPS page on the Donors Choose website. As you scroll through the projects, you’ll be able to see how much has been donated and how many dollars are needed to fully fund the request. On Giving Tuesday, all donations will be matched 100 percent, so your gift of $30 will result in $60 being contributed to the project of your choice.

Select projects for Head Start and prekindergarten classrooms are already being doubled through a 100 percent match. Thanks to PNC Bank Grow Up Great®, projects showing a blue 2X symbol will be matched dollar for dollar until funds run out. Your gift of $25 will transform into a donation of $50!

Help our students receive books, supplies, reading aids, and more. Browse through projects today and make your donation on December 1, 2020!
