MPS moving all staff email boxes to Office 365

The district is moving all staff email boxes to Office 365. Office 365 is a cloud based service provided by Microsoft. All of your email will be accessible to you no matter where you are as long as you have an Internet connection--whether it is at work, on your home PC, laptop, tablet or phone.

With Office 365 you will get a 50 gigabyte mailbox plus one (1) terabyte of file storage. In addition you will have access to Office Web apps such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

You will be notified one (1) week in advance as to when your mailbox will be moved. Mailbox migrations to Office 365 will normally happen on nights, weekends or non-school days.

If you are using Microsoft Outlook 2010 there will be very little change in terms of functionality. The Office 365 Web interface is different but very user friendly and will be an easy transition for you.

If you are purchasing a new desktop (or laptop) or have an existing one, you can save a little money and not buy Office 2013.

Once you are converted to Office 365 you can download up to five (5) copies of Office 2013 from your Office 365 account. Instructions will be posted on the Technology page.

This benefit will not be available until your mailbox is moved to Office 365. We plan to have all staff mailboxes moved to Office 365 by the end of January 2015.
