Milwaukee Public Schools is taking steps to protect students and staff from coronavirus. The MPS Department of Facilities and Maintenance is currently working to ensure that every MPS school has the cleaning and sanitizing supplies they need to reduce the spread of germs in school. The regular school cleaning schedule is being revised to provide more frequent and thorough cleaning.
The district is in regular contact with the City of Milwaukee Health Department and the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services. At this time, all schools are open and are enjoying their regular school day. Families will be notified immediately if any changes are made to the regular school schedule.
All individuals can minimize the chances of spreading coronavirus by washing hands often, staying home when sick, and covering any coughing or sneezing with a tissue. Anyone who becomes sick with symptoms more severe than an ordinary cold is advised to seek medical care.
MPS takes the health and safety of students, families, and staff seriously. District leaders are following coronavirus carefully and will provide updates as needed.
