MPS hosts College Decision Days to celebrate graduates

College and Career Center at GoldaAs graduations draw near, MPS high school seniors are sharing their plans to attend college or technical school, enter military service, earn certificates, and embark on apprenticeships. To celebrate students’ plans, 24 MPS high schools hosted College Decision Day events from May 2–10, 2022.

Each school planned an individual ceremony, with some events in person and some virtual. Of the approximately 3,500 seniors who will graduate, every student who has declared their career plan was recognized to celebrate their hard work toward graduation and the journey to the career of their choice.

“One of our district priorities is to graduate students who are ready to follow a pathway and achieve their career dreams,” said MPS Superintendent Dr. Keith P. Posley. “College Decision Day events help shine a light on the importance of career planning so each student can succeed in their unique journey.”

Students proudly shared their plans to attend private colleges, state universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, armed forces, technical schools, and apprenticeships in local industries. Congratulations to all our students!
