MPS high school enrollment deadline is extended through Friday, Nov. 7, 2025

MPS high school enrollment deadline is November 7, 2025Families and their 8th-grade students have a few extra days to apply to an MPS high school for the 2026-27 school year—the deadline is extended through Friday, November 7, 2025.

Students in grade 8 should explore schools now and make their choices for this important transition. To find a high school that best fits your needs, look through schools and their programs on the district website.

With nearly 30 high school options in the school district, MPS has an ideal learning situation for every student’s needs and career goals. At MPS high schools, students can prepare for career areas such as technology, engineering, arts, music, agriculture, college prep, culinary arts, skilled trades, and more.

To apply online, visit the MPS High School Enrollment webpage. Enrolling before the November 7 deadline offers the best opportunity for a chance at your first-choice school—some schools fill up quickly.

All students will apply through a short online form. Families new to MPS must provide the student’s 7th-grade report card, 7th-grade attendance record, and standardized test scores. Current MPS 8th-graders do not have to upload forms in the application.

Students also will be required to submit an essay in response to a reading selection. Current MPS 8th-graders will complete this requirement in school this fall.

Students who do not enroll by November 7 will be assigned to a nearby high school with available seats.
