MPS announces Welcome Week and Freshman Bridge

Welcome Week BannerBack-to-school time in MPS is kicking off the week of August 3, 2020! We are excited to welcome the rising class of 2024. All incoming ninth grade students are asks to participate in Freshman Bridge. This year’s Freshman Bridge will include virtual tours, meeting school staff, team building, distribution of instructional materials, Chromebooks, school gear, and masks. This school year's incoming kindergartens and sixth graders will also be welcomed to their schools during this week.

Each school will host their own welcome for new students. Contact your child’s school to learn more detailed information.

MPS is going back to school online this fall, so families should begin planning for technology needs. MPS will have Chromebooks available before school starts.

Students who have MPS-issued Chromebooks should keep their devices if they will return to the same school. Families who are keeping their student’s Chromebook are asked to test their device and contact the school immediately if the Chromebook is not working properly.

Important: Some students need to return their Chromebooks to their schools. Please return your Chromebook if:

  • You graduated in spring or summer.
  • You will not attend an MPS school in fall.
  • You will attend a different MPS school in fall, including students moving to a middle school or high school.
