LaFollette receives new coats for every student

Khris Middleton Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton along with UnitedHealthcare CEO Dustin Hinton delivered excitement, energy, and new coats to Robert M. LaFollette School this week. About 210 students received new winter coats to keep them warm throughout the winter. The gift was made through Middleton’s organization, Dreambuilders Foundation, and was supported by a grant from UnitedHealthcare.

In past years, Middleton and UnitedHealthcare staff distributed coats inside MPS schools. This year, families picked up coats for their children through a drive-up distribution to observe social distancing.

“Even though our students are learning virtually, children still need a warm coat to get through our Wisconsin winter,” said Principal Marny Donalson-Gamble. “Students and families are also warmed by the generosity of Middleton and UnitedHealthcare, who are showing so much compassion through this event.”

Middleton is engaging in 12 Days of Khrismas this month to help children in Wisconsin, South Carolina, and Louisiana. Students at LaFollette are excited to be part of his holiday plans.

On behalf of Milwaukee Public Schools and the students and staff at LaFollette, thank you, Khris Middleton and United Healthcare!
