Carver Academy students receive new coats from Fed Ex Cares and Operation Warm

Students at MPS Carver Academy went home with big smiles this fall—and new coats! Representatives from Fed Ex Cares and Operation Warm were on hand to make sure every child received a warm winter coat to be ready for cold weather. Students had the chance to try on coats and choose their favorite color so they can look forward to winter.

MPS Students with New CoatsWinter gear is critical so students can walk or ride a bus to school safely. Warm clothing helps ensure that children attend school every day—without proper items, children sometimes stay home and miss out on learning.

Operation Warm manufactures sturdy coats, shoes, and other items that partners can access to distribute to children. Fed Ex Cares has a number of global programs to deliver resources to people in need, including coats to students across the country.

Want to help? The annual MPS Mitten Drive is underway! Donate mittens, caps, jackets, fleece clothing, scarves, and more. Get the details about the MPS Mitten Drive.

George Washington Carver Academy offers kindergarten through grade 8 and is located at 1900 N. 1st St., Milwaukee, 53212.
