Frederick J. Gaenslen School is in a quiet residential community in the Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood which serves over 700 children. The school is equipped with high-speed wireless access points and has been a leader in the district with ensuring 1:1 technology in the form of Chromebooks and/or tablets to students. The school is welcoming to parents, families, students and community members and has strong relationships with all individuals who are a part of Milwaukee Public School District.

Project Lead the Way works with grades 5-8 and ensures those students have rich STEM experiences throughout the school year. The school's rich music program educates and entertains the community; athletics and clubs offer social and developmental opportunities for students; and partnerships for students to explore the world are all part of the comprehensive program offered by the school.

An MPS Assistant Principal assists the Principal in the overall management of the school including evaluations, discipline, and the general school operations. When designated, acts as Principal during periods of the Principal’s absence. He/She assumes responsibility for activities delegated by the Principal, which can include athletics, safety, special education, governance council, PBIS, learning teams, professional development, enrollment and programming, among others.

Administrative applications for the following position are being accepted by the Office of Human Resources through Monday, April 12, 2021A current resume and three (3) manually signed letters of recommendation dated within the last year must be attached to the completed application. Non MPS employees must submit transcripts confirming a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree.
