Event DescriptionPhonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS™) is administered to all K4 through grade 2 students as the state-required early literacy screener in the fall and spring. PALS™ is a research-based screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring tool used by teachers to identify students at risk of developing reading difficulties, diagnose students' knowledge of literacy fundamentals, monitor progress, and plan instruction that targets students' needs. Schools determine when to test their students within this window. Teachers will be able to tell parents when their child will take the PALS™.
