Writing Lab and Home Repair - Little Free Library for the Neighborhood

MSL students build little free libraryHigh school students at Milwaukee School of Languages (MSL) collaborated to build a Little Free Library for their community. The project teamed up students from Ms. Loosen’s writing lab class with students in Mr. Beason’s home repairs class. The Little Free Library was installed in Auer Garden, a small green space north of the MSL parking lot.

Using their writing skills, students planned, proposed, and marketed the library. They also ran a book drive to fill the library with its first batch of books. Mr. Beason’s students constructed the library. ACE Hardware donated building supplies, and the Kops Park Neighborhood Association donated the cost of registering the library. Students, neighbors, and school staff gathered for the grand opening.
