Fresh Coast Classic College and Resource Fair

The Fresh Coast Classic College and Resource Fair took place at the University of WisconsinMilwaukee Student Union (2200 E. Kenwood Boulevard) on Thursday, November 16, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thank you to all the sponsors, all of our vendors, and all of our schools. All three helped make this year's event successful. Please visit this page again in summer 2018 to find out information about the FCC College & Resource Fair 2018, and make sure to attend the Fresh Coast Basketball Classic on Friday, November 24, and Saturday, November 25.

The Fresh Coast Classic College and Resource Fair gave high school students an opportunity to explore historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other colleges around the country. Seniors also got a chance to attend an information session, while juniors were able to go on a guided tour of UW–Milwaukee's campus. Seniors were also able to listen to and ask questions of a panel of MPS alumni about their postsecondary journey.

The Fresh Coast Classic began in 2007 and since then has become more than just a basketball tournament. People travel from around the world to experience this classic. Running Rebels, a Milwaukee community organization, wanted to find a way to get youth interested in things other than what they would see going on daily in their neighborhoods and to provide access to college and career pathways. This event exposes Milwaukee-area students to many educational opportunities available at HBCUs as well as colleges in Wisconsin and surrounding states, and it is a great, fun-filled, family weekend of events!
