Admissions

Admissions is the process of applying and gaining admittance to a college or university. Each school has its own process to apply, so go to the school's website or contact the school's Admissions Office to find out what the specific requirements are. 

 

Here are a few resources and links with tips for applying to college and what to do after you have been accepted:

 
Basic requirements to be admitted:
Four-Year College or University
  • Grade point average (GPA) that meets or exceeds university's minimum GPA
  • ACT or SAT score
  • High school diploma
Technical/Community College
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Placement test (Accuplacer)
Apprenticeship
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Accuplacer or similar test
  • May need a driver’s license
Military
  • High school diploma
  • ASVAB
  • Good physical shape
  • Be at least 17

Special Hours

We look forward to serving you in our new, school-based College and Career Centers. The CACCs will be open during the school day and at select locations after school; however, hours may be extended for special events taking place in the centers. Every other Friday, the CACCs will be closed briefly in the morning for staff to meet. The centers will reopen at noon on those select Fridays.

Week of December 4, 2017:
CACC Golda Meir: Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
CACC MSOL: Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
CACC Obama: Monday, closed; Wednesday, closed
CACC Washington: Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday, closed; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Thursday, closed; Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Special Events

City Year is a national, non-profit who is dedicated to helping students and schools succeed. During the week of December 11, 2017, City Year Milwaukee will be visiting our centers to educate students on the program and the employment, education and professional development opportunities they can receive through this program. If your student or you are interested in finding out more about City Year Milwaukee, please attend their visit to your high school, list below.
