Bilingual Parent Services

Parents that would like to learn English will have the opportunity to enroll in English as a Second Languages (ESL) classes. ESL Parent Classes start in October and end in June. The main objective for ESL parent classes is for all parents to be able to master all four language domains; listening, speaking, reading and writing at the end of the course.

All parents will have to take a placement assessment to determine in what English ESL Level they will be attending. English ESL Levels are:

  • Beginner – This level is for parents who have minimal reading and writing skills and who are not proficient in oral, reading and written English.
  • Intermediate – This level is designed for parents who have minimal proficiency in oral, reading and written English.
  • Advanced – This level is designed for parents who have some ability to function in a limited capacity in oral, reading and written English.

ESL parent classes will be offered at:

  • Lincoln Ave. School
  • Rogers St. Academy
  • South Division High School
  • Zablocki School

To enroll in any ESL Parent classes please contact Xiomara Santiago Flecha; Bilingual Community Liaison, at 414-475-8400.
