MPS seeks feedback on early start date calendar proposal

smiling studentsMilwaukee Public Schools is moving forward with a plan to seek Board and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction approval to implement one district school year calendar with an early start date for all schools and students.

Pursuing an early start date calendar has three-fold benefits:

  • Milwaukee's children learn and succeed
  • Milwaukee's families gain consistency and support
  • Milwaukee's citizens save tax dollars

For a quick look at the benefits of our early start date calendar proposal, download the fact sheet.

MPS invites families, students, partners, staff and the community to learn more about the calendar proposal, the benefits of following this model and to share your thoughts by visiting mpsmke.com/onecalendar.
