MHSA Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs on WISN Season to CelebrateThe twelve members of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble from Milwaukee High School of the Arts will be part of the holiday lineup on Friday, December 15 on WISN’s annual special, Season to Celebrate. The show will re-air on December 24, 2017 at 11 p.m. at on December 31, 2017 at 4 p.m. on Channel 12.

The Jazz Ensemble, made up of juniors and seniors from Milwaukee High School of the Arts, taped their performances at Milwaukee’s Tripoli Shrine Center. The program features various historic and unique Milwaukee venues throughout the show.

Students sang their own arrangements of two holiday songs, “Mistletoe” and “Carol of the Bells.” The group has been featured on Season to Celebrate for the past three years.

Choral Director Raymond Roberts shared that the WISN crew was impressed by the Jazz Ensemble’s sound, stage presence and professionalism. “Our students were thrilled to participate in the professional arts community through the taping of the show,” he said.

The 2017–18 school year is the Year of the Arts in MPS, with more arts programming in all schools and support from dozens of community partners. MHSA is the flagship arts high school in MPS.
