Humboldt Park teacher named WISN 12’s ‘Top Teacher’ for March

Teacher Heidi Reid with 3-year-old RyanHumboldt Park School teacher Heidi Reid is committed to helping every child succeed.

The work she has done and patience she has shown to help students overcome speech issues are what landed her WISN 12’s Top Teacher award for March.

In her nomination of Reid, Noelle Baranowski, a parent of a three-year-old at Humboldt Park, wrote that Reid, “has been a perfect example of the amazing hidden gems Milwaukee Public Schools employs.”

Baranowski said Reid and her classroom assistant developed a program to help students like her son, Ryan, overcome his issue. He now looks forward to attending school and has come so far with his speech that no one would ever have known her son barely spoke nearly a year ago.

Baranowski appreciates Reid’s dedication to her students.

“I would have to say it’s her level of truly caring about and really getting to know her students and their families,” she said.
