Local basketball teams and drumlines compete this weekend

The 11th Annual Fresh Coast Classic (FCC) will take place this Thanksgiving weekend. The signature basketball event will feature 26 Milwaukee-area high schools in a 13-game series on Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Klotsche Center, 3409 N. Downer Ave.

The Fresh Coast Classic showcases the top Milwaukee City Conference high school basketball teams matched up against the top Southeastern Wisconsin suburban high school basketball teams. Fresh Coast Classic has featured notable players who have advanced to collegiate and professional basketball leagues.

The Fresh Coast Classic will take a break from basketball on Saturday, November 25 at 3:30 p.m. to host the MEGA Drumline Showcase. Area drumlines, including several MPS schools, will compete for top honors in drumline precision and creativity. Basketball will resume after the drumline competition concludes.

Games begin at 9:25 a.m. on Friday and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Click here for a complete game schedule.

General admission for the tournament will be $8 for students and $10 for adults or $6 if attending only the drumline competition. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting http://www.freshcoastclassic.org/ or by texting “fresh coast” to 31996.
