Assembly at North DivisionMiddle and high school students from the 53206 ZIP code and the Sherman Park neighborhood took part in a special Day of Destiny program to take the first steps toward being in control of their futures.

The event, held at North Division High School, offered students the opportunity to be matched with mentors and adults to create positive relationships to guide the young men through high school and beyond.

In addition to mentor matching, the program featured empowerment workshops, motivational speakers and a variety of workshops.

The event was led by Milwaukee author, poet, and I Will Not Die Young co-founder Kwabena Antoine Nixon.
