District valedictorians and salutatorians honored by board

District valedictorians and salutatoriansThe Milwaukee Board of School Directors honored valedictorians and salutatorians from across the district at its May 30 meeting. Among the invited students were the 11 co-valedictorians from Rufus King IB High School.

"These students illustrate what hard work and high achievement looks like,” said MPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Posley. “We are proud to honor them, we extend our congratulations to the students and their families, and we eagerly look forward to hearing about their future accomplishments that will no doubt make the world a better place.”

Valedictorians and salutatorians from the MPS Class of 2019 are heading to diverse destinations that include Harvard University, Alverno College, Marquette University, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Minnesota, University of Miami, and more.
