Career training available through MPS partners

MPS youth apprentices are getting on-the-job training while still in high school! Students in the program attend school half the day and spend the rest of their day in a paid job. Training prepares them for high-paying, in-demand jobs in growing fields. Some students in the program continue their employment after high school.

Career areas include:

  • Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
  • Architecture & Construction
  • Arts, AV Technology & Communications
  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Health Science
  • Hospitality & Tourism
  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing
  • Transportation, Distribution & Logistics

MPS high school sophomores, juniors, and their parents/guardians are invited to a Youth Apprentice information session on April 10, 2019, at 5:30 p.m. in the MPS Central Services auditorium. To reserve your seat, learn more, or if you cannot attend, contact Terri Salzer at 414-475-8019 or salzertj@milwaukee.k12.wi.us.

Eligibility: Students must have a 2.0 GPA and a 90% attendance rate.

MPS Central Services is located at 5225 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee.
